The Twining Snake Lily

This flower was a new one to us last year. This year it is everywhere!

With a little research we found it’s common name to be: Twining snake lily, also known as dichelostemma volubile or twining brodiaea. What we know it is tall, pink and bends on a flimsy stem seeking sunlight and something to lean on.

This wildflower is endemic to the mountain foothills of California and we are grateful for it. While you await your return to Camp Lodestar please enjoy these photos.
