Camp and conference center hosts large groups and specializes in accommodating dietary needs.

Summer season moves swiftly as groups roll in and out of Pilgrim Pines Camp & Conference Center. Often the facility hosts groups booked back to back. As one group leaves the entire campus is reset with fresh food and given a clean shine. As the camp’s Site Director Connie Clark says, “My staff and I do everything we can to ensure that our guests feel welcome, including being mindful about our guests’ dietary needs.” 

As many facilities are no longer offering meal service, Pilgrim Pines Camp & Conference Center not only continues to offer home-cooked buffet style meals, but also focuses on providing meals for guests that have special dietary requirements. “We host groups ranging in size from 10 to 262 people looking for accommodations, though our average group size is 150 people.” Clark says.

In an interview with Amna Hussain, a recent guest of Pilgrim Pines Camp & Conference, she shares her groups appreciation for the facility accommodating requests. Hussain sits on the board of the Yaseen Educational Foundation and notes how difficult it can be to find a retreat center that will accommodate her group’s dietary needs and who are open to all types of groups the way Pilgrim Pines is. "We had a great time, the accommodations are super, and everyone went out of their way to make our stay wonderful," says Hussain. 

The southern California camp offers pre-arranged free tours and to encourage new business, Site Director Connie Clark is offering a plate of fresh baked cookies upon arrival to new groups who book between October 1, 2019 and February 28, 2020. 

Pilgrim Pines Camp & Conference Center is open year-round and offers lots of lodging options, recreational options including a swimming pool, basketball court, a walking labyrinth and more. Meal Service is available along with multiple meeting areas with both indoor and outdoor options.

Camp & Retreat Center in S. California Celebrates Diversity

Pilgrim Pines Camp & Retreat Center, owned by the United Church of Christ Southern California-Nevada Conference is intentional about welcoming a wide variety of diverse nonprofit organizations.

Pilgrim Pines Camp & Retreat Center located in Oak Glen, California hosts groups of 10-262 people on its 152 acre campus. The site is home to many groups who rent lodging and enjoy meal service in a beautiful outdoor setting.

Pilgrim Pines Camp & Retreat Center is managed by United Camps, Conferences & Retreats (UCCR), a property management organization that promotes acceptance and diversity at all of the 12 sites they manage across the USA. The rules for acceptance and participation are the same for everyone who makes a reservation for an event or retreat. “We honor diversity and welcome guests without regard to age, race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or national origin,” says Tina Heck, Director of UCCR Reservations and Communications.

As a full-service camp and retreat facility, Pilgrim Pines has multiple lodging options from lodges to cabins to apartments. The dining hall seats 225 guests and there are plenty of indoor and outdoor meeting spaces for groups to meet. Occasionally the facility offers special discounts, Clark recommends staying tuned for upcoming announcements for fall and winter specials in 2020.
