The Power of Partnership

This year, we are celebrating 50 years as an organization. We can’t help but feel the extra tug at our hearts at the timing of this celebration and Covid-19. Prior to the sheltering-in, many gathered and listened to the UCCR humble giants: two past presidents, and one current president, amongst many others, speak.

The room was still as we listened to the inspiration and passionate from our hard working impassioned leaders. We were led on a journey through history starting with the inception of the idea:

“What if we can create a nonprofit that can serves as stewards of camp properties?”

That was it, the beginning of United, Camps, Conferences & Retreats. The birth of a 50 year mission, the seedling that started the momentum to what today has expanded to full-service camp conference and retreat center facility management.

As Mike Carr, our current president and CEO said, “We are a nonprofit, that serves nonprofit property owners, that hosts nonprofit groups.”

A nonprofit, serving a nonprofit, serving a nonprofit. A partner, serving a partner, serving a partner. Who does that? We do.

How do nonprofits survive financially? How does a nonprofit live on for 50 years?  How?

Because we are motivated by something greater than financial gain, we are motivated by the power of partnering with you, our partners.

Though today, we cannot host your group at our retreat center or meet with our property owners in person, we still find meaning in our partnerships. We believe we will continue to partner and create great places for groups to flourish.  We still find value in the bringing of groups together, even more so. We all need each other.

That’s why we are helping our groups go virtual. If you’d like to bring your group program online, please contact us, we’re here to support you.

We invite you to watch a video slideshow featuring all our speakers at the UCCR 50th Anniversary luncheon and hope you feel as inspired as we do.  We are committed to continue to fostering our partnerships, however it looks, we will be there.
