LEAD DINNER COOK AND CAMP/RETREAT WORKERS - ENCHANTED HILLS CAMP

Enchanted Hills Camp is located amid 311 acres on Mount Veeder just 10 miles west of Napa, in Napa County California  We are looking for upbeat, mission driven people to support our guests, and our site.  We currently have openings for Lead Dinner Cook and Camp/Retreat Worker positions.

Lead Dinner Cook Qualifications

  • Six months training and six months experience; or one year experience in cooking for large groups in a camp or institutional setting
  • Six months experience in directing the work of food service personnel or one season in directing the work of food service personnel at a UCCR facility
  • Experience in customer service
  • Hold a valid California drivers license with good driving record

Areas of Responsibility

The lead cook shall have competence in and delegated responsibility for the following, as assigned by the site director:

 

Food Service

  • Assist with all food service aspects in compliance with health and safety codes and other regulations
  • Assist with the planning and supervision of the production of nutritional menus within the bounds of UCCR’s food philosophy
  • Prepare and serve meals

Supervision

  • Assist with training and supervision of food service personnel as requested

General

  • Receive, store and maintain foodstuffs and supplies in pantry and storeroom
  • Perform cleaning functions in food service and storage areas

Expectations

This position has a primary impact on the overall effectiveness with which UCCR interprets its mission to its members and community.  The lead cook is expected to provide a healthy and successful food service program delivered at the highest level of hospitality and customer service.  S/he is responsible for performing work with considerable attention and alertness with frequent periods of concentration.  The effectiveness of this position will be measured annually by the successful fulfillment of the stated areas of responsibility.

 

Essential Functions of the Job

  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to read and follow menus and recipes
  • Ability to lift and carry 30 pounds
  • Ability to use all types of commercial kitchen equipment
  • Ability to drive UCCR vehicle
  • Ability to use visual and auditory senses to identify and respond to problems and hazards in the food preparation area
  • Ability to use cleaning and janitorial supplies

Accountability

The lead cook is an employee of UCCR and is directly accountable to the site director.UCCR reserves the right to revise or change job duties as the need arises.  This job description does not constitute a written or implied contract of employment.

Camp/Retreat Worker Qualifications:

  • Experience in at least one of the following:
    • food service
    • janitorial service or housekeeping
    • general maintenance
    • customer service

Essential Functions

  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability work work harmoniously with co-workers
  • Ability to adhere to work schedule and be punctual
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Physical strength and mobility to lift, unload and move food and supplies, and to carry up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to read and follow menus and recipes
  • Ability to use cleaning and janitorial supplies

Candidates must be reliable, have excellent references, and have reliable transportation.  Criminal background check will be performed.

    COOK POSITION
    COMMUNITY OF THE GREAT COMMISSION seeks Cook for our our beautiful camp located in Foresthill (near Auburn, CA)  Qualifications:     

6 mo training and 1 year exp, or two years experience in cooking for large groups in camp or institutional setting.   Hourly wage. 

We are also looking for Camp Workers for food prep, housekeeping, and light maintenance and Lifeguards. 

We can provide certification. 

Must be at least 18 years of age to Lifeguard.

   CAMP TUOLUMNE TRAILS IS HIRING!

 

Camp Tuolumne Trails, located 8 miles east of Groveland is hiring for the following positions this summer:  Maintenance worker, cooking staff, housekeeping, and lifeguards. 

Camp Tuolumne Trails is a new facility.  

We will begin hiring throughout the season – lifeguard training is available.
