Located at an elevation of 7,500 feet in the Sierra National Forest,
Camp Tamarack is
conveniently located between the Kaiser and Dinkey
Lakes Wilderness Areas. Camp
Tamarack, a rustic and beautiful site
situated on Forest Service land, has a meadow
and creek running beside
camp. Near Shaver Lake, Camp Tamarack is 60 miles northeast of Fresno
and is completely remote.
Camp Tamarack is open in the summer only. There is no electricity -
However, there is gas refrigeration, the centrally located
restrooms have hot showers,
and the lodge has solar lighting.

Camp Tamarack is owned by the United
Church of Christ, Northern California Nevada
Conference, and
is one of several camps and conference centers operated by
the cooperative efforts of United Camps, Conferences and Retreats,
serving over 800 nonprofit groups each year. For information

Camp Tamarack operates
under a Special Use Permit from the U.S. Forest Service
in the Sierra National Forest . Rules for acceptance and
participation are the same for everyone without regard to
age, race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation,
handicap or national origin.
Camp Tamarack is leased by United
Church of Christ, Northern California-Nevada Conference.
