A retreat center for nonprofit groups of 15-45, nestled on the southeastern slope of Mt. Tamalpais. (see location of site on map of California or get driving/airport shuttle directions)
Located on 43 acres on Mt. Tamalpais in Mill Valley,
Marin County,
California, Ralston L. White Retreat was designed by one of
San Francisco's prolific architects, Willis Polk. The retreat
was completed in 1913 and was a wedding gift to Ruth Boerke,
Ralston White's bride. The 14,000 square foot home has three
stories, a number of balconies with spectacular views and
beautiful furnishings throughout.
The Ralston White
Retreat is available to adult groups and to supervised youth
groups (8th grade and up).
The heart-shaped lawn and beautiful grounds invite you to enjoy the
elegance of your surroundings. There are several walking paths on the
property as well as nearby trails that lead to the top of Mt. Tamalpais.

The site is ideal for weddings,
fundraisers, and staff appreciation events. (Sorry, the retreat is
not available for private parties.) |
Lodging

Large, three-story mansion can
accommodate 45 overnight guests in semi-private and dormitory
bedrooms with shared bathroom facilities. |

Dining

Delicious meals are served in a
gracious Victorian-style dining room. |

Ping-Pong, horseshoes, volleyball and
basketball (half-court). |

Mt. Tamalpais provides extensive
hiking trails, with some originating on the retreat property and

The Ralston White Retreat Foundation was formed for the purpose of restoring the historic Ralston White Retreat in Mill Valley, California, and rededicating it to the public good.
Ralston L. White Retreat is held in trust by the Ralston White Retreat Foundation, and
is one of several camps and conference centers operated by the
cooperative efforts of United Camps, Conferences and Retreats, serving
over 800 nonprofit groups each year.
