A camp and retreat center in Wilseyville, Calaveras County, California for nonprofit groups of 12-167. (see location of site on map of California or get driving directions)

                      

Located at an elevation of 3000 feet in the sierra foothills, in Wilseyville, California,

Camp Lodestar occupies 425 acres of meadow and woodlands. It is rich in varied ecological environments and steeped in the history of the mother lode country.

Camp Lodestar is ideal for outdoor education. On-site Indian grinding rocks inspire a hands-on experience of Native American daily life. Camp Lodestar offers diverse plant and animal life to study and appreciate along trails through the meadow, along a river and pond, and through forests.

Lodging

International House - Retreat center with semi-private rooms for 20 persons

(bedding available).

Toad Hall - Lodge with eight bedrooms for 32 persons.
Dormitories - Two dormitories house 20 persons each.

Tent Cabins - Eight tent cabins with wood and canvas sides and shingled roofs, sleep 8 people each.

Leaders Cabin - Available to group leaders, a two bedroom house with living room and kitchen (also used as a Nurse's cabin).

Dining

Meal Service - homemade meals served buffet-style, available for all groups, served

in the dining hall by our friendly staff (outdoor barbecues available).

Own Cooking Option - fully equipped kitchen in International House (for groups of up

to 22 people).

Program Space

Dining Hall - Dining and meeting space for large groups, spacious outdoor decks.
International House - Meeting space for groups of up to 20.
Toad Hall - Small meeting space for groups of 20 or fewer.
Apricot Hall - Indoor arts & crafts center, adjacent outdoor art platform.
Amphitheater - Bench seating and lighted stage (for groups of up to 167).
Campfire Circle - Bench seating for groups of up to 167.

Eymann Outdoor Chapel - Bench seating in a wooded grove for groups of up to 167.

Recreation

Large swimming pool and bathhouse.
Volleyball and basketball courts, baseball, ping-pong.
Large playfield and BBQ by the pool.
425 acres for hiking and exploring (self-guided nature trail with informational booklet available).
Nearby fishing, historic gold rush attractions, unique parks.
Kirkwood Meadows is 90 minutes away for winter skiing.

Indian Grinding Rock State Historical Park nearby.

Camp Lodestar is located in Wilseyville, California, and is 90 minutes from Sacramento and 40 minutes from Jackson. See more pictures of this site.

Camp Lodestar is owned by the California-Nevada Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church and is one of several camps and conference centers operated by the cooperative efforts of United Camps, Conferences and Retreats, serving over 800 nonprofit groups each year.
